As AI and autonomous driving technologies evolve, I envisioned a collaboration where Waymo seamlessly integrates with a service like Airbnb. In this concept, I explored how the collaboration between Airbnb and Waymo could deliver personalized travel experiences.
Overview
This is a speculative product design concept exploring what a collaboration between Waymo and Airbnb could look like. As autonomous vehicles become more reliable and city infrastructure adapts, the natural next step is integrating them into the travel booking experience — not as a separate app, but as a seamless layer within Airbnb itself.
The concept centers on three ideas: Waymo rides auto-scheduled around your Airbnb stay, a Smart Itinerary that plans rides around your trip, and in-ride suggestions for local attractions. The goal was to make autonomous travel feel like a natural part of how people already plan trips — not a novelty, but a convenience.

The Smart Itinerary feature is a feature that allows for users to enter their trip itinerary and schedule Waymo rides to accompany their trip. Waymo gives the user suggestions for improvements to their itinerary through Smart Edits.
